Holy Love, A Biblical Theology for Understanding Human Sexuality by Steve Harper. Dr. Harper
has been a professor at the orthodox Wesleyan seminary (Asbury Theological Seminary in KY) for most
of his career and connected to the traditional/conservative voice of the UMC denomination. In 2014, one
year into retirement, Harper changed from being “welcoming, but not affirming ” to “all means all”
in his personal stance on homosexuality and the church.
Our discussions will help us to have a more complete Biblical, historical and cultural
understanding of how people interpret Scripture and come to opposing conclusions regarding sexuality
and acceptance in the church.
