Rev. Scott M. Low – Pastor

Pastor Scott Low joined Tallmadge UMC in July 2016. He enjoys sharing God’s message in a variety of worship styles. From traditional favorite hymns and liturgy, to modern music genres and spontaneous prayer, he preaches to refuel your soul. Scott strives to work with the people of Tallmadge UMC to trust God with our whole lives more each day. He wants to help others experience the wholeness that God offers in spite of living in a broken world. “I truly believe that the church must be more than a place where we talk about being and doing good. The church must be a people who go into our world with the transforming hope, healing, feeding, clothing, and freeing power of Jesus Christ!
Pastor Low has years of experience in youth ministry. He firmly believes that children and youth are vital to the life of the church. He also believes in strong community involvement, where he builds bridges into the life of faith.
Scott has many passions, such as bicycling, downhill/cross-country snow skiing, watching, and participating in most sports. He is also an avid Ohio State Buckeyes fan, and is the Cleveland Gladiators arena football team chaplain in the spring and summer months. After a 7-week mission trip to Liberia, West Africa in 2013, Pastor Low continues to be an advocate of appropriate ways to help his Liberian friends in need. Born and raised in central Ohio, Scott is a graduate of The Columbus Academy High School. He attended the Ohio Northern University, where he was a 4-year starting running back on the football team and earned a business degree. After a short career in business, he answered his call to ministry. Scott attended The Methodist Theological School in Ohio. Scott’s wife, Kay, is a special education teacher.
